I build AI tools that do the executive-function work instead of explaining it.

Twenty-one years in IT infrastructure, nineteen years writing code, and running Linux since 2007. Diagnosed with ADHD in 2008 and autistic — though I only found that part out in 2026.

Everything here is neurodivergent-first and open to everyone: AI that runs on hardware I own, built in the open, documented as it goes.

Why

Why I build this

ADHD in 2008. The autism diagnosis did not come until 2026 — eighteen years later, and about thirty-five years after it would have been useful.

Before that there were forty-odd years of explanations that were never quite right. Lazy. Difficult. Not applying myself. Too much potential to be struggling this hard. The wiring was different the whole time, and nobody thought to look at that half of it.

That is the part of late diagnosis people skip past. It is not a tidy label you pick up as an adult and move on from. It costs you jobs, relationships, savings, and years you do not get back, and it leaves you fluent in the idea that you are the problem. Had I been handed the right tools early, I would have got a great deal further, a great deal sooner.

I cannot get those years back. What I can do is build the tools I needed and never had, put them where the next person will find them, and write down what I learn on the way — including the parts that fail.

Neurodivergent-first, not neurodivergent-only

I design for the hardest day first, because a tool that still works when your executive function is gone works beautifully when it is not. Neurodivergent people are who I build for first and think about most. That has never meant a walled garden — everyone is welcome here, and everyone should get something out of it.

How I build

  • One next action, not a list

A list is just another thing to be overwhelmed by. The answer to "what do I do now" should be one thing.

  • Suppression is a feature

Deciding what not to show you is the hard part, and it is exactly where most tools give up and hand you a firehose.

  • Sovereign and local-first

The AI runs on hardware you own. No monthly subscription, no per-token API bill, and nothing about your day uploaded to a company that might change its terms next quarter.

  • Human in the loop

Agents draft, plan, and prepare. You approve. Nothing gets sent, spent, or deleted without your say.

  • Documented in public

Written up as it happens rather than tidied afterward. The dead ends are usually the useful part.

Work

What I'm building

Every item carries an honest status. Some of this runs today, some is a prototype, and some is still a page of notes — that distinction is the point of building in public.

OpenJarvis

Executive function

In development

A voice-first command center for the parts of a day that executive function is supposed to handle for you.

  • Ask for a brief the way you would talk to a person — no syntax to remember.
  • Get one next action instead of a backlog, with the rest deliberately held back.
  • Review, approve, or veto work that agents prepared overnight.
  • Pulls in voice notes from recorders like the Plaud and turns them into follow-ups you would otherwise lose.
  • Runs entirely on a local RTX 3090 Ti: no subscription, no API fees, and nothing about your day leaves the house.

MealForge

Food & sensory

Prototype

Meal planning that treats texture, sensory limits, and decision fatigue as the actual problem — not pickiness.

  • Learns what you like, what you cannot stand, what you have eaten lately, and what your week looks like, then suggests accordingly.
  • Swap an ingredient over a texture you cannot tolerate and it substitutes, rescales, and adjusts quantities for the batch size you want.
  • Import a recipe from anywhere online into your own profile.
  • Builds one consolidated grocery order for a whole meal plan, checked against the rest of the week.
  • Answers "what do I order" before you are standing in public with no idea.

Planned

  • Photograph your pantry and get dinner suggestions from what is actually in there
  • Restaurant roulette that accounts for your schedule, location, and what you have not had in a while
  • Kroger ordering and delivery straight from the weekly plan
  • Guided cooking that walks you through it step by step, and can watch and coach as you go
  • Community recipe sharing, translation, photos, comments, and friendly competition

Idea recovery

Concept

Your open tabs, bookmarks, and half-written notes are a trail of things you meant to come back to. This sweeps up the crumbs.

  • Collects tabs, bookmarks, and scattered notes across devices into one place.
  • Researches and summarises each one, so the follow-up is already done.
  • Hands it back as a brief, a PDF, or a second-brain folder — not another inbox.
  • Send it a rough idea and, when there is enough to work with, it scaffolds an MVP.

What's next

  1. Build-in-public writing

    Next

Long-form notes on late diagnosis, self-hosted AI, and the infrastructure underneath it — at engineer depth, no camera, no ads.

  2. Documentation as code

    Alongside the writing

Public technical docs generated from the work itself, so the reasoning is readable and not locked in my head.

  3. The company

    Target: early 2027

A Kentucky LLC with DBAs for the individual products. The name is genuinely still undecided, so this site is the front door until it is not.

  4. Paper-trading research bot

    Later

Multi-asset, paper only, human approval gate, public performance dashboard. No live execution until the numbers earn it.

Background

How I got here

21+ years in IT infrastructure · 19 years writing code · Linux since 2007 · on GitHub since 2011

Experience

  1. Arvato

    Present

Senior IT Global Operations Infrastructure Cloud Engineer

Global infrastructure and cloud operations for enterprise systems, working remotely from Kentucky.

    • Infrastructure automation and source-of-truth tooling across global operations.
    • Day-to-day work spans Linux, cloud platforms, networking, and CI/CD pipelines.
  2. Independent — Big Brain Coding

    2023 — Present

    Solo developer & infrastructure engineer

Independent development and self-hosted infrastructure while an LLC comes together. Everything in the projects above runs on this.

    • Built and operate a self-hosted stack across a local AI machine and a European VPS — Docker, Traefik, Vault, Tailscale.
    • Stood up local inference on an RTX 3090 Ti eGPU running a 27B model at roughly 51 tokens per second, with no hosted-model costs.
    • Migrated a full production stack between hosting providers without data loss or downtime for the public sites.
  3. Code Louisville

    2020 — 2022

    Web development program

Full-stack program covering modern frontend and backend development.

    • Completed the program and built the foundation for React, TypeScript, and modern CSS work.
